I haven’t felt much like writing lately. Mostly I’ve been occupying myself with moving furniture around and getting ahead in the super-easy class I’m taking. I’ve also spent some time with the new baby at Jenny’s house. He’s still cute.

Making my house a bit prettier is difficult, because of the limited space and because of all the things that don’t actually belong to us, but we have to keep around. I’ve written about the sewing table before, and it’s huge, and it has to stay in the living room. Also, the room we wanted to have cleared out of junk before the baby is born is most likely not going to be done, so we have two bedrooms to work with instead of three.

However, it’s perfectly doable. There are lots of people who manage with less space. It’s just cumbersome.

To this end, I’ve decided to move the fish tank to the front room, so everyone can see how cute and lovable my fishies are. We considered putting them in the baby’s room, so she’d have something fun to look at, but then I realized my baby will not be spending much time in her room other than to sleep.

Now instead of a fish tank, she has a bookshelf, which will probably have to go as soon as she starts crawling. Also, that room was formerly our office, so it contains printers, filing cabinets and all manner of officey things. Originally, we were going to make the third room into an office, but since that’s not an option right now it appears that the filing cabinets are going in our bedroom. Urgh. This is temporary, but I was very much hoping to keep the office stuff out of there.

Once all these things are done (I can’t move the fish tank by myself, it’s way too heavy even when it’s completely empty of fish/water) we can start worrying about that extra room full of junk that we were supposed to have cleared out. Again, that is completely up to someone else so the most we can do is nag.

I will report on the nagging later.
