New Dishes

No, I did not buy new dishes. But I’m on the lookout for new dishes. I have several specifications, mostly that they be breakable (I don’t like the kind that does not break when it falls), that they be interesting, deep colors but not black, and that they be cheap, of course.

So far I have been quite disappointed with my finds at Bed, Bath and Beyond, Target and the ever-disappointing Wal-Mart. Although if I had to pick I would probably go with the Target ones.

The real problem is that my dishes have water spots on them that won’t go away. The dishes themselves are black, and incredibly posh, and we love them. But after three years of being washes, we can’t get the spots out any more. We’ve tried all the ways we can think of, including (gasp!) hand-washing and drying immediately afterward. It didn’t work, but that’s how desperate we were.

So now I can’t have people over for meals until one of two things happens: 1) I get new dishes, or 2) I can somehow get rid of the water spots. I’ll keep trying as soon as I can think of something I haven’t already done.
